Texas Wine Country: Where To Go With One Afternoon in Fredericksburg
Your ready go-to itinerary with only one afternoon to winery hop in Texas Hill country
There are so many cutie wineries (like SO many) and theyβre way closer together than in Napa (so easy to get overwhelmed/sidetracked if you have the attention span of a gnat like me).
Of all my nearest and dearest Austin winos, these two had the most βYOU HAVE TO GO THERE!β (listing the other top suggestions in this post!
Get seated under a magical giant tree and order cutie apps + wine by the bootle or by the glass -OR- bop to the βwine barnβ (adorned with a neon sign and hunting trophy antlers SOOO cute) for a more casual picnic table/rustic fire pits sitch.
Our friendly server made it feel kinda like Cold Stone after elementary school when youβre getting way many more samples than allowed with all the wines she let us taste when we were stuck on what bottle to order for the table.
Whites were excellent and everything was delightfully dry (gross out to sweet wines, am I right?), but we went with a crisp roseΜ (predictable).
I will def be back here again and again (and again!)
2.) Heath Sparkling Wines

Like stepping into a chic robot with champagne taste
Thankfully only across the road from stop one if youβre tipsy and not vibing the car (ππ»ββοΈ guilty).
We were served 4 sparkling tastings each with an accompanying bite (melon & feta, salmon and blue cheese foam, you get the picture).
The showroom has floor to ceiling windows and giant displays at each tasting station with extensive drone footage showcasing their winemaking process.
These wines are not for retail β you can only taste/purchase them on the property.
3.) Vaudeville

Delicious cafe and upscale home decor store
Located on Fredericksburgβs main drag, smooshed between old time-y buildings and cowboy hat shops, is the most darling eatery and shop.
0% gift shop. 100% high brow design + goods. It has all the swoon ββ matte black chandeliers, vaulted tin ceilings, old school creaking floorboards, and Edison bulbs.
